We had the pleasure of taking part in an exciting and professionally rich launch event. Together with my co-author, Ákos Kele Fodor, we presented Kibeszélő (Talk It Out), our book and board game.

The majority of the audience were professionals working with disadvantaged children and youth, but since the event was open to the public, participants came from other fields as well.

We gathered in great numbers, which is always a special joy.

To ease into the session, we held a quick vote on the ten difficult topics addressed in the game. It turned out that, for those present, the hardest subject to discuss with children is abuse.

Addiction came in second, followed by the topic of death in third place.

Afterwards, participants were able to try all four gameplay modes in small groups—from warming up and creating poems to piling on question cards and finally, bringing the experience to a close.

Although our game was released a few months ago, we haven’t yet had the chance to bring it to every corner of the country, so we’re always grateful for invitations, opportunities to play together, and the wonderful feedback we receive.

This game addresses difficult topics with ease, and it was truly rewarding to see and experience that the audience agreed—we really did achieve our goals.

Lately, I’ve felt that the game hasn’t been getting the attention it deserves—even though I really enjoyed working on it, and I believe we’ve created something truly important.

But now, following the book launch, a webshop also recorded a video interview with us, the authors, so a small campaign is kicking off around the game—which we’re honestly very happy about.

After all, why else would someone do this, if not to make sure their game actually reaches people?
